From there, we head to Bellavista, on the banks of the Nanay River, to board a boat that will take us to the Kukama Community of Padre Cocha. During the peaceful river ride, you’ll admire the lush vegetation and river landscapes, breathing in the essence of the Amazon.
Upon arrival, we’ll take a walk through the village to learn about the daily life of its inhabitants and explore their traditional crafts made from clay, natural fibers, and wood. We’ll visit a local resident to delve deeper into the community’s history, and witness a local group delight us with dances, music, and folklore, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the Kukama people.

Yagua Tribe - Nuevo Perú
After bidding farewell to the Kukama community, we continued our journey toward the Yagua Community of Nuevo Perú. Upon arrival, we began a walking tour through the village, stepping into a world where every corner reflects a life lived in perfect harmony with the rainforest. The traditional houses, built from local wood and palm thatch, beautifully showcase how this indigenous community has adapted to the Amazon biosphere for generations.
